What volume ranges can the system handle?
This high-throughput automated liquid handler can handle anywhere from 1μL to 1000μL with the installation of a 1000μL syringe pump. However, a 250μL syringe pump is typically installed for conducting low volume assays such as PCR set up, Nucleic Acid Purification or NGS library preparation, guaranteeing a %CV of less than 5%. The ReagentDrop module can be used in VERSA 1100 to dispense bulk reagents without having to use tips or load reagents on deck. This module can dispense as little as 10μL to more than 1ml of reagent.
Is liquid level sensing available?
Yes, the VERSA 1100 high-throughput liquid handling system is equipped with liquid level sensing to detect the different layers of liquid present in specific applications such as liquid extraction, nucleic acid purification, and NGS library preparation. You have the option to choose from either single channel liquid level sensing or multi-channel liquid level sensing depending on your requirements.
How is the VERSA 1100 configured differently to automate different applications?
The VERSA 1100 can be equipped with different modules to cater to different assays. Each module is designed and developed to meet specific requirements, this includes and is not limited to specific modules and customized adaptors. For example, Nitrogen dryers and positive pressure manifold can be installed to automated solid phase extraction. A Magnetic block, heater-shaker, and reagent block cooler can be installed to automate nucleic acid purification and NGS library preparation.
Is there an option to have more than 15 deck positions?

What measures are in place to prevent cross-contamination?
Using disposable tips, each VERSA series can avoid sample cross-contamination. Along with the tip-touch function, our user friendly software VERSAWare allows you to have control of the air gap to eliminate the sample cross contamination when using our automated liquid handling systems.
