Automated Extraction of Tetrahydrocannabinol And Cannabidiol using VERSA 1100 SPE prior to GC-MS

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD) are two well-known compounds found in cannabis. THC is the primary psychoactive component responsible for the euphoric effects associated with marijuana use, while CBD is a non-psychoactive compound known for its potential therapeutic benefits.

In forensic laboratories, the accurate and efficient extraction of THC and CBD from urine or blood, is crucial for the analysis and identification of these compounds. Conventional extraction methods often involve time-consuming and manual procedures, which can be labor-intensive and prone to human error. To overcome these challenges, we present an application note that outlines an automated extraction approach utilizing the state-of-the-art VERSA 1100 solid phase extraction (SPE) workstation.

Check out the application note below.
